A ready made family, made by God.
Meet the Lees.

The first time Michael Lees laid eyes on Emma Fields, now Emma Lees, he fell in love with her. It took Emma a little longer.
“The only experience I had ever had with the cops was them taking my biological dad to jail. When I decided to become a 911 dispatcher, it took me some time to warm up to it all.”
The night everything changed was going along like any other, recalls Michael.
“I had chatted with Emma, then left the 911 center. Something in her voice coming through the radio was soothing.”
Michael shares he didn’t expect the car to stop.
“He was all over the road. He did stop, fairly quickly. When I saw the child in the backseat, I knew something was very wrong.”
Before the man is in hand cuffs, Michael and the young boy, now his son, have began forming a bond.
“When he told me about his little sister at the house,, I knew we had to get to her.”
That young boy, now MJ. Lees, was more concerned with the safety of his baby sister.
“When the other unit and I pulled up at the run down residence, I felt God telling me we didn’t have much time. There was an explotion before we could reach the two year old, now my daughter, and the suspect.”
Now named Lilly Mae Lees, the child received serious injuries, paralyzing her legs. She the suspect, Lilly’s biological mother, and both officers received serious injuries.
“I was burnt over fifty percent of my body. I carried Lilly out of the house. My partner carried the suspect.”
When they were only a short distance away from the structure, it fully exploded. The injuries included burns to lungs.
“The recovery was painful. God blessed me a lot through it though.”
Emma came to the hospital that next morning.
“When the officers hollered for help on the radio, I knew it was bad. All I could think about was Michael and those children. When I went there the next morning, Michael led me to Jesus. I went to visit the children, and Nancy. It still amazing me what God has blessed me with.”
Emma’s mom and step dad have been nothing but supportive.

“On the night I met my dad, my biological dad had made me ride with him into town. I begged him to let me stay with my little sister. I was nervous for me, but terrified for my sister. Our mom and dad have taught us about Jesus, and shown us love we didn’t know. I am thankful Lilly was blessed to not have to stay with our birth parents as long as I did. We never have to be worried about food or nothing anymore. I love Jesus and my family.”

Lilly is making progress everyday. With the support of God and her family, she is thriving.
“I love Jesus. I love to sing. I love my family. Jesus is going to make me walk.”
Out of the mouths of babes.

The newest addition to the Lees family. Michael and Emma are so thankful for each of their children, and love each one the same.
