My Grandpa was a man of God, an American Army Veteran.
Not a tall man, but the biggest heart.
Like any married couple, my Grandpa and Nanny had their problems.
But I believe he loved her until the end. In fact I know.
He served his community in the fire departments, EMS, and 911 Dispatch.
His family was everything to him.
He treated his Grands, just like his own kids. So does my Nanny.
He showed me how a real man should act. He showed me what a real dad should be like.
We were fishing buddies.
I would never want to bring him back from Heaven, even if I could.
He is in a beautiful land, worshiping his Savior. No more pain, no more suffering.
My heart breaks at all the pain he went through.
But, oh now, he is better off than I.
He loved my dog, Ashton. They were best friends. My Nanny and she are too.
On that day in May, when he left for Glory, we weeped. We cried.
There was a tornado.
When I was growing up, the only place I wanted to be when it stormed was with my Grandpa.
