Encouragement from God’s Holy Word.
I desire to share some scriptures for you to discuss with God. HE is our FATHER, and waiting to help HIS children. If you are a victam of gaslighting, or any type of abuse, please know it is not your fault. GOD loves you, and longs for you to find peace, comfort, and shelter in HIM.
Psalm 55:22 – “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”- 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (KJV)
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. - Isaiah 41:10 – “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
From the King James Version Bible.
Counseling and support groups.
Finding what is available in your area in context of counseling or support groups for those facing gaslighting can be overwhelming. But, again, you are not alone.
Start by checking with local churches to see if they offer counseling. Reach out to counselors in your area. I have found talk therapy helpful in some ways. However, personally, finding a trauma coach was the best thing.
First, as with anything, seek God’s leading where to go with this. Not everyone is the right choice. Remember, what God said about this. Just because they proclaim Lord Lord does not mean they will enter in. After you have been through mental, emotional, and or physical abuse, it’s hard to trust anyone, even yourself. But the ONE we can fully put our faith, hope, and trust in is GOD. Don’t let one person destroy you. I have lived it, and came out alive. Emotional abuse in a relationship is just as brutal as the outside pain. Maybe even more, because most of the time, it isn’t fully or seen at all. But GOD does.
Other resources
You can find lots of things on line about gaslighting. There are even books about it. Research resources in your area, find support groups, and google Bible based books on gaslighting or emotional abuse.
Thank you for joining me this week. Please don’t stay in an abusive situation or relationship. There is hope, and help. God will send angels. You may just have to step out in faith.
Coming up next, LORD WILLING, on the blog…
LORD willing don’t miss this weeks check in. I have exciting news that will have you itching to read what GOD is allowing these fingers to write.
Also, an invitation for you.
GOD bless, and sending prayers friend.
In GOD’S love and strength we are never alone.
