Governor Andy Bashir has declared a state of emergency ahead of the brutal winter storm expected to hit the area on Sunday. There comes the chance of power outages with this system. If you have a back up heat source ensure that you have a way to detect carbon monoxide, and no signs of carbon monoxide poisoning. That is urgent and crucial.

If you intend to use your vehicle as a back up, warming station in the event of a power outage, or extra way to charge your mobile device, ensure that you do not do this in an enclosed garage

It’s also a good idea to put gas in your car. That would be an extra heat source, as well as a way to charge your mobile device. Ensure that your weather radio has fresh batteries so that you can still get weather updates in the event of a power outage. Sending prayers and God bless.
