You don’t need expensive software to write books.

Samantha C Sinclair

Author of, The Call For Emily.

Hi. If you are reading this, you might have the same question several others have asked me lately.

“What software do I need to write books?”

First, let me just say all 14 titles God has blessed me to publish have been written without expensive software.

Word and Google Docs are my go to spots.

If I am writing on my desk top, I like word. It works great with my screen reader.

For visually impaired writers, I use Jaws.

When I am writing on my phone, which is great for working on the go, I use Google Docs.

For my visually impaired writing friends, it works well with Voice Over.

With Google Docs, you can invite others to edit in your document. They can make notes to leave feedback, or do the editing for you.

With Word, you must email or save the document on a flash drive to share it with others.

This is to my knowledge. Writing is my thing, I’m not tech. But, I’m just sharing what works for Samantha.

How do you write?

A little extra note. I have been known to write the book on the computer and think it is done. No. That was only the rough Draft. I was typing it into Google Docs on my phone. This was to transfer the document, but God showed me it’s a great way to have a rough draft, and finished story. In case that didn’t make sense, let me explain. I typed up what I thought to be the finished story on my computer. I decided to transfer it to Google Docs, on my phone, by hand. Yes, you could do it the tech way. But you would be missing the point. You will see what I am talking about if you try it.
