First let me say AI is not all bad.
Let’s first talk about the good.
As a visually impaired woman, it is helpful to me in a lot of ways.
The Seeing AI app helps me put away my groceries, read short letters or notes, and the screen readers on my phone and computer are an everyday use.
I sometimes need help creating SEO posts, because I’m still learning. I needed help creating a short stage play for one of my published titles. I have no shame in saying, I prayerfully used AI. There may be times it’s yes on this blog.
With that being said, starting now, if AI is used in a blog post, I will be transparent about this. This doesn’t mean it doesn’t involve work on my part. I still have to write in the information, and if needed, do the research. Before releasing, I must do the editing and approval.
Not having the money to hire a person skilled in advertising has pushed me to use this as a helpful work tool, and learning tool.
Do I agree with AI writing books front to back. Not completely. But, if it is being used in the right way it could be helpful.
If the person is writing the story, putting forth the effort, then let’s talk about this.
Perhaps Johnie has worked hard on researching his topic, and has a rough draft written, but he needs help with formatting. He might run this through AI. It would catch mistakes such as spelling. To be clear, this should not take the place of editors or readers who are kind enough to be proof readers before release.
But as someone who does not have the money to hire an editor for each book, I could see using this tool.
Hint. FB Messenger has a good AI tool.
Make sure whenever you use AI, you are a prayerful and strict editor. Remember, it is your work, your name attached. You should always remember to be transparent when using AI assist.
Now for the bad.
Let’s say Sue uses AI the wrong way.
What’s the wrong way you ask? She isn’t transparent about it. She claims to have done all the work herself. If this is an short article or novel, this is wrong. She is hurting herself, and her readers. Also, it should never be allowed to push a certain career level down. For instance, self checkouts are nice. But, they should not be allowed to push humans out of this line of job.
Thanks for reading.
