Here is some food for thought on this Sunday morning.
When you come to Jesus, you become a new creature. You need lots of prayers and lots of support. Remember that? Now, how can you help other new believers? Can you uplift them and pray for them? Or do you choose to doubt them and put them down. I understand that actions speak louder than words. But keep in mind only God sees everything. Just like God is still working on you, God is still working on them.
We want to say that sticks and stones may break our bones, but words will never hurt me. That is a big fat lie. Words to hurt and they have consequences. However, as a Christian, we must be willing to seek forgiveness and accept it. When someone comes to us truly asking for forgiveness, we must be willing to accept it. You’re going to be very miserable yourself if you don’t. I know this myself . We have to forgive to make it into heaven. It doesn’t mean we have to be around that person. On the other hand if you are the person who did the damage, you need to be willing to go make a sincere apology and not commit the same pain again.
One more thing. When you become a Christian, it’s not a free ticket to do whatever you please. God wants us to live in the center of his will. It’s not I got saved so I know I’ll make it to heaven, regardless of what I do. we do something wrong regardless if it was intentional or not, we need to get on our knees right at that second we realize we’ve done it and ask for forgiveness. This doesn’t mean wrong now and ask forgiveness later. Don’t knowingly sin. With that being said, you are a human and you’re going to make mistakes. God knows that. I believe that’s why he created forgiveness. Read John 316 today. How’s your relationship with God, and how is your heart? Are you being an encourager or a stumbling block? This is a question. I want to ask myself each and every day. Today is the day of salvation for tomorrow may never come.
