Well let’s start with the good news first. No one wants bad news anytime, but especially not first.
The best parts of a story to write is when, at least for me, when a heart is given to Jesus. Another favorite of mine is family blessings. Maybe a single is blessed by God to meet that one and only. Maybe a couple is blessed with a child. Maybe that prayer is answered. There is a lot of good to be written.
Take for example a short story I was blessed to write recently. Not only did this visually impaired single mother find her forever love, but together they fault for the job of her dreams.
Now, writing the bad stuff is hard, but important.
If it never rained you would never see God’s rainbow. So if hard stuff didn’t happen in the story what fun would the happy ending be?
Writing The Keeper Of My Soul was one of my deepest challenges yet as a writer. I didn’t want that beloved character to die. But God had a reason for me writing it.
Writing suspense filled scenes is exhilarating. I am a pantser, so I hang on, and hope the same for my reader.

What is your favorite and least favorite part of a story? Maybe you are the fingers, and maybe you are the reader. In some cases I am both through out the process.
I have learned it’s important just as in life to let God control the story. It turns out better.
