According to Chief Forecaster Daniel Wilson at the Storm Alert Center, Kentucky should remain weather aware today.

While the tornado threat is higher in Western Kentucky, a tornado can not be ruled out in South Central Ky.

As with any tropical system, heavy rain can be expected. Avoid flooded areas. It is better to turn around.

When you hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

A watch means there is a probable chance. Be on the lookout.

A warning means it is happening.

Your severe weather plan should be in place now, and everyone in your location should know that plan.

You can get your choice of weather apps on your phone. Stay tuned to The Storm Alert Center for weather updates.

In severe weather a Mobile Home is not a safe choice. Never try to out run a tornado.

BNWS sends prayers to those who have lost loved ones and or property due to Beryl.

While Kentucky will not see what Texas was sadly hit with, this storm should still be taken seriously.
