May 26, 2024 severe weather outbreak

By Samantha C Sinclair May 26, 2024

All of Kentucky is in an enhanced risk of severe weather today.

With multiple tornado warnings already being issued in the state this morning, this is a dangerous situation.

If you have outdoor plans today, it would be best to insure you have a place to seak shelter or move things in doors. Consider canceling events if there is no shelter.

Your life matters.

You should have multiple ways, if possible, of receiving weather watches and warnings.

The Lake Cumberland area, and other areas, are under a tornado watch until three pm central time. However, this is just the first wave. A second wave is expected later this evening.

Although it was expected tornados would be more likely to occur this evening, the out break has already began. This is why yesterday everyone was advised not to get caught up on timing.

Stay tuned to NWS, The Storm Alert Center, and other local news outlets. The Weather Channel is another great source.

If you have damage reports make those when it is safe to do so. Getting footage of a severe storm or tornado is not more important than your life. Take shelter if a warning is issued for your area.

Alert those you know.

Be safe, and insure other people and animals are as well. God bless.
