Severe weather day expected tomorrow

According to the national weather service, there is an enhanced risk for severe weather for all of Kentucky on Sunday.

Chief forecaster Daniel Wilson says he will have more of an update this afternoon following the conference call with the national weather service.

You need to have your severe weather plan in place now, and ensure that everyone in your household or business knows what that plan is. If you are in a mobile home or unsteady shelter, figure out now where you can go to be safe. Remember that a watch means conditions are favorable, meanwhile a warning means you need to take shelter at that time.

Having a weather radio is the most reliable source of receiving weather updates immediately. There are several apps you can get on your phone, stay tuned to local television, and the storm alert center on Facebook. Do not depend on outdoor tornado sirens.

If you need to figure out where the nearest shelter is to your home, check with your local emergency management, also you can watch for posts on Facebook with updates of local shelters. A manufactured home is not safe in a severe storm or tornado. Do not try to outrun a tornado.

During severe weather, it is tempting to try to grab photos and videos. Only do that if it is safe to do so. If there’s a warning issue, seek shelter.

Ensure that outside, animals have shelter, worn family, friends, and neighbors as well of this upcoming likely weather event. Be safe and God bless.

We will post an update, Lord willing as soon as we have one.
