Are you ready for Summer and all the buzz that comes with it? Good. The Jamestown State Park is starting their Summer events this weekend. There will be some events rain or shine. Some will be weather permitting. According to Cadylee Coffey, an administrative Specialist for the State Park, there will be some events that will cost a small amount.
“This is mainly to cover supplies,” Coffey told BNWS.
Most events this weekend will be free.
The outside pool opens this Friday, May 24. The pool will be open seven days a week, ten in the morning to six in the evening. This is central time. Anyone under age 18 should be accompanied by a guardian. There are four life guards at the pool at all times. The park has 12 total life guards, and two pool attendants. One of those attendants Coffey shares, is a nurse. There will be small pool toys, such as goggles available. There is also a snack shack on sight.
Coffey also shared something with BNWS that hasn’t been released to the public yet. There will be an aerobics class. This will not cost extra, it will be with your pool admission cost. The class will be held rain or shine, if it’s raining, they will hold it at the indoor pool. Coffey says this will be held Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday starting June first. Join them at 10am CT.
Both the indoor and outdoor pools are handicapped accessible. There is a chair operated by pool staff that can put a disabled person in the water. Pool staff does not touch the person. They will need someone to assist them into the chair.
This Friday night, from six to eight, come out to the State Park for live music. Diverse Country Artist Michael Redman, from Clumbia, is set to perform. Coffey wants everyone to know all is welcome, and the event will be held rain or shine. If need be the event will be moved indoors.
