Don’t let the names of people and places cause you to skip over this chapter. Please. Remember God gave us every single thing in HIS Holy Word for a reason. It is alright if you can memorize each place, or recall every name. You might highlight or write it down if you feel that might help you. You can always go back and read it again.
The chapter all goes together. But read a few verses at a time. God will help you to understand if you allow HIM too do so.

You do not have to do it the same way I do. But this might help you.
Verses one through four. Who, where, when, what?
Verses five and six… What do you see? What happened?
Let’s look at verse seven for a minute. Who, where, when, what? Make a list even if only in your head as you read, or in a notebook to keep. You can always go back to this chapter.
In studying verses eight, nine, and ten take a moment and notice the kings. Now what happened to whom, verse eleven.
Let’s look at verses 12 through 14. Who, what, when, where. Very important. Who told Abram, what did he do?
Verses 15 through 24 Who, where, when, what?
Have you blessed God today? Bless and praise HIS Holy Name. Amen praise The LORD.
If you are a visual person you might try this. Make four places on paper, computer, but what ever helps you understand in your Bible Study.
For example you might do a space for Who, then where, what, when?
In each of these spaces, or even on different sheets of paper, with each scripture answer these questions. It could help in instances where there are more than a couple names, places, and more.
Or reading might be enough for you ad that is okay. God will help you learn in the way HE knows best for HIS child.
Amen.
