Calley Thierfelder is one determined young lady. She isn’t just pursuing one dream, she isn’t just helping one area of emergency services in her town.

In new Milford Connecticut this young lady has been going to fires with her dad ever since she was in a car seat. This has led to her joining the Northville fire department. She has responded to half of the fire departments calls in the last year. Working alongside her dad, on scene she is known for much more than just her pink shield. She is known for her hard work.

As a high school junior, she is also a cadet with the police department. Her advisor says that she has shown a lot of growth, and when they have new cadets, they turn to Calley.

Calley says being a small firefighter is quite fun because she can do the fun jobs. Also she enjoys seeing people’s faces when they see a five foot two inches woman next to a six foot man carrying the same amount.

Her parents are proud of their daughter, and enjoy hearing from others what she has done.

As a training EMR, firefighter, and charter police cadet she can help in many aspects on scene.

Calley encourages girls and women to do what they love. She says don’t let other people hold you back because they will always be jealous of you and want to do what you do.
