Visual impairment what’s important from the start?

What is visual impairment?

Visual impairment can range in severity, and can affect one or both eyes. It means the visual issue can not be corrected with glasses, or other means of correction.

Maybe you are a visually impaired person, like myself, looking to raise awareness.

Maybe you are a family member or friend of someone who is visually impaired, and you are looking for information.

There are lots of good resources out there. Facebook and in person support groups, support in school systems, School For The Blind and public schools, and more.

I would like to invite you to follow my new podcast.

On Sticking Together For Visual Impairment, we will have a wide range of topics, and requested input from listeners.

Life learning has led me to want to not only raise awareness, but encourage others.

Also, if visual impairment has touched you or a loved one, come join our private FB group. Sticking Together For Visual Impairment.

As a parent it is an important thing to advocate from the begining. Let your child see you stand up for them, age discretion. Include them in decisions, age level. This is important as they walk this maze of emotions, hardships, and opportunity. Expect more than you think they can give, and realize it might take them a little longer or doing something a different way to finish a task. Always let them know you are cheering from the side lines, and it will make all the difference.
