Wow, the suspense

So, how do you go from writing straight Christian Romance to this? Well I mean, all of my stories have cops as main characters. The stand alone could even be considered a mystery. However, the Call For Emily is my first full on suspense.

It didn’t start out like that. At least not for me. God knew the end result before HE ever put the idea in my heart. God is the true author of all things.

I thought I was writing a story about an abandoned baby who was diagnosed with TSC, along with other critical medical conditions. I knew in my heart there was going to be a twist, I just tried to stay out of the way and let God control. I’ve made the mistake of not doing so more than once.

In the midst of writing this, some one who had a lasting impact on my life passed away. This book is in memory of him, and dedicated to his family and others in my life. However, the detective in this story is also in memory of this kind hearted man. I pray his family and friends smile as they read these pages and think of him. I thank them for their permission to do this.

So why leave romance for suspense? Well to be fair, romance exists. It’s not front and center. After a break up, I’ve found it hard to read straight romance. I’ve always enjoyed a good mystery. But lately, I keep my nose stuck in Christian Fiction Thriller suspense. So I’m excited to be writing in that order also.

Lynette Eason, Laura Scott, and Colleen Coble are three of my favorites in this area. If you enjoy Christian romance and family, don’t miss reading Karen Kingsbury books. You won’t be able to put any of them down.

The Call For Emily is in editing with Christian Faith Publishing at the time of this artical’s release. This is another amazing blessing from God, being accepted by a tradition publisher. Lord Willing, The Call For Emily should release in 2024. For now, if your looking for some good clean romance and a mystery, check out a Glimmer Of Hope by Samantha Sinclair on Amazon.
